1) people who don’t talk like Archie ARE superior. If you are a white person, it is far better for you to be merely a part of systemic racism, than to be both part of systemic racism and a bigot who spouts racist epithets. 2) The show and the signals it sent did lead to social change. You may not be old enough to remember this, but there was a time when a large number of white people talked like Archie without feeling any shame at all. By exposing people like Archie to ridicule, this show helped to create a social atmosphere where such talk is a ticket to social suicide. We still have to fight systemic racism, but decreasing the acceptability of this kind of overt racism was a step in the right direction.
