As it stands, your definition is circular. What do you mean by racism, exactly? I know what the word used to mean, and by that definition almost nobody is racist anymore. We are now living in a world where Strom Thurmond supported a Black man with a white wife to be a supreme court justice. But Thurmond was still racist, in some sense obviously, and so are many modern “nice racists”. But exactly how and why? How can we even begin to fight racism in these new forms, if we don’t have a non-circular definition of it?
