Awkwafina is not caricaturing anybody. She grew up using two different accents--one from Queens at home, and one African-American at school. There's no good reason to say that only one is her "real" accent. There are also thousands of Asian-Americans in the US who grew up in African-American Neighborhoods for whom this is the only way they talk. They, and she, have as much right to talk that way as anyone else, and shouldn't be shamed for it.
