Bad title, as your point seems to be that the existence or nonexistence of God is a pre-supposition for collecting evidence, and thus can’t be contradicted or confirmed by the evidence itself. If that is your point, I more or less agree with you. both theism and atheism are based on assumptions that are reasonably effective at collecting data, and don’t contradict each other. Isaac Newton and Kepler were both theists, but that didn’t stop them from collecting data and making good theories about it. Nor does atheism have any sort of superiority in terms of Occam’s razor. to claim that the universe was created by a mindless, mechanical device without foresight might be true, but it’s every bit of speculative, as claiming it was created by a purposeful agent.
