I think she looks great in all of them, and none of them is altered in any way. But she doesn’t look this good all the time, and one of the reasons I love her is that she doesn’t feel the need to. Her sense of self is rooted in her skills and creativity as a musician, teacher, and concert promoter, and looking good is just a bonus saved for special occasions. In these pictures, she looks better than she does around the house, partly because of clothes and make up, and partly because the photographers knew how to photograph her from her best angles. In the first shot, she looks glamorous, which is why it often gets run in local newspapers prior to a concert. The second shot was taken for a publicity campaign for a product she was endorsing, and the photographer wanted to stress how much fun she was having. She doesn’t look glamorous, but to my mind she looks pretty darn cute.
