Having read fair number of your posts, I would suggest that describing yourself as an empath doesn’t really capture your mission as a writer. An empath is someone who surrenders their point of view, so they can see the world as other people see it. You seem to be doing exactly the opposite: demanding that other people empathize with your point of view. This is not a criticism. Writers who speak up for marginalized people need to share their truths, because they haven’t been expressed yet, due to the domination of privileged voices. A too strong readiness to be empathetic creates a danger of having the marginalized voices be swallowed up by the privileged point of view, which is all too often internalized by marginalized people. Keep doing what you are doing. It needs to be done.
