I find interesting that the populace of New Orleans was so outraged by her treatment of the slaves that they attacked her house and burned it. I wonder who those rioters were. Did any of them own slaves themselves? How did they treat their own slaves? I would be very surprised if that treatment would be morally acceptable by modern standards.
