I heard there was a hadith which said that all good Muslims should eat a particular kind of cookie that was baked and sold by the fellow who is the source of that hadith.

there’s also a hadith which says you shouldn’t trust the hadiths. does that mean you shouldn’t trust that one, and therefore go back to trusting the hadiths?

I am a Buddhist, and Buddhism does not believe in sacred texts. Texts point to the truth, but do not embody it. There is a saying “don’t confuse your finger with the moon“ to warn us against truth claims that have not been tested in “the smithy of experience“. consequently, although I am interested in what Muhammad has to say about this or any other topic, because he was an extraordinary and wise human being, I’m never gonna believe anything just because he said it. I think you probably agree with me about this point.
