What I would say now is that what she said in that first long essay was not transphobic, but that she has been drifting towards positions which are arguably transphobic now. This is what happens when you don't take a closer look at people who start embracing you as an alleged ally. Also I think that she has been complicit in spreading transphobia, by not explicitly rejecting positions by people who are using her name, and that this is a very irresponsible thing to do when Transphobia is growing at such a speed.
