I like the article, and agree with almost everything in it. But your brief criticism of Beyoncé was misleading. I clicked on the link, and it says towards the end of the article that when Beyoncé found out how the workers were treated, she dissolved her relationship with Ivy Park in 2019. She now has her clothing line made by Adidas, and the article says nothing about how Adidas treats their workers. This comment was buried in the middle of an unrelated paragraph, which was followed by further criticisms of Ivy park, so I’m not surprised you missed it. I almost missed it myself.

One undeniably feminist action Beyonce took was booking a tour in which she was accompanied by an ensemble of about 5o musicians, all of whom were women. This included symphonic musicians like violinists, clarinet players, as well as electric bass, drums, saxophone, trumpet, at almost every instrument traditionally considered to be played by men. Not only did this create work for these women, it also exposed the lie so often circulated by promoters that “we would hire women musicians if they were qualified.” All of those women were superb players, and they were clearly just the tip of the iceberg.
