I'm not a Christian, but I think Jesus got this right: judge not lest ye be judged, and take the mote out of your own eye before trying to pull the splinter out of someone else's eye. A lot of people do a pile-on to publically shamed racists and sexists as a way of deflecting from doing work on their own racism and sexism. We don't have to cut any slack to these publically shamed people to see that these hysterical pile ons sometimes go too far.
