It became a minor fact for me with regard to those friends, in comparison to the numerous other things I knew and liked about them. One of these friends organized numerous block parties that turned our neighborhood into a community. And I could say at least a dozen more important things about him before I got to the fact that he was black. I could do that for about a dozen other friends who were black. Maybe I should, but that should be an article, not a comment. Do you really think I have a moral obligation to keep their blackness constantly in mind?
