It’s not really a matter of truth versus untruth most of the time. The problem is that both sides cherry-pick the data to fit their story. And more importantly, some anti-racist educators are using methods that will not produce their desired result. Many people think it’s pointlessly cruel to tell a white 8-year-old that they are racist, even if they think that some other form of anti-racist education is necessary. My point is that if we care about anti-racist education, we have to be critical of bad methods of racist education, or it will never get done right. We shouldn't defend every one who does it just because their intentions are good.
