Neither. These are just the Black people I know, and I realize it is possible that they are not an accurately random sample of black people as a whole, for the reasons I gave. I live a privileged life, so consequently the black people I know well are ones who had the guts and intelligence to work their way up into the world that I was born into by dumb luck. That is why this article doesn't contradict a single thing that Jaron says. I'm neither confirming or denying that anything he says is true. I'm just supplementing his comments by pointing out that there are many people in my white privileged world that have these same qualities that he describes. The difference is that they don't have to suffer for it because their privilege protects them.
