In my description, I fell into gendered behavior. Our society automatically sexualizes young girls. I fell right into our cultural norm — I described a girl in more suggestive ways than I would ever describe a boy.

Of course you did! That was the whole point of the article. You were concerned that her appearance was sexualized too much. If you hadn't made that point clear in the article, it would've made no sense.
