Part of my point is that you really do deserve credit and praise for doing the right things, and I deserve no credit for that whatsoever. For me, staying out of trouble was going with the flow. For you staying out of trouble required you to to fight the flow. That's something most privileged people don't realize, and that part of my message was primarily directed towards them (us).
