…lly if Western powers were still fighting Vedic civilizations as they currently are Islamic ones. 

There's no pretending that these two faith traditions are "equally bad/equally good" on women's personhood and dignity.
We can mine quotes from scripture all day but the deeper you go, the more the author's conclusions…
