That is certainly not the only definition of “transgender” I have seen. there are people who say the only criteria for being transgender is choosing to identify as transgender. If I understand her correctly, Rowling’s primary objection to transgender activism is the claim that self identification is the only necessary criteria for being trans. She would have no objection to sharing a bathroom with someone who can be identified as a woman by some biological criterion.
