That would be the smart thing for them to do, but it’s not up to them. Trump will run because he likes the attention and doesn’t care what happens to the Republican Party, or to anybody or anything else. He might win the primary, because most people who hate Trump have left the Republican Party. And he might win the election, although if he does he will probably lose the popular vote by an even bigger margin than he did in the last two elections.

My only hope is that all those people who say they don’t like Biden in the polls will vote for him anyway, because they prefer him to Trump or any other idiot who is capable of winning the Republican primary.

Biden’s presidency was rendered powerless on the streets of Portland by leftist rioters and those who glorified their violence on blog and twitter pages. Those posts, and the violence that inspired them, gave Trump enough straw to build a straw man that caused millions of people to support Trump because of a fear that Democrats were planning to overthrow democracy and replace it with communism. One of those people actually posted a comment on this article. Another one is an old friend of mine, and former Hillary supporter, whom I can no longer talk to because of this.

That straw man is what reduced Biden’s congressional majority to a razor thin level. This gives Manchin and Sinema the power to veto what would otherwise would have been the most leftist set of social reforms since Franklin Roosevelt. Biden is advocating for many of the same programs that Sanders and Warren proposed. If either of them had been elected, they would be in pretty much the same situation Biden is in now: advocating for good programs that can’t get through a Republican log jam. The Republican strategy is to block everything Biden proposes, so that people, including their Useful Idiots on the left, will denounce Biden as a do-nothing president. It’s working.
