The conclusion of all my essays is that because it can be endlessly debated, no one has the right to make the decision for anyone else. My goal is to lead my readers through so many argumentative mazes that they give up in despair and decide to let everyone decide for themselves. That’s what I’m trained to do, and so I thought that would be the best way for me to help protect women’s choice in this matter. From each according to his ability and all that.

I don’t think there’s any problem choosing between a possible human and a woman’s bodily autonomy. For me, the woman’s autonomy wins every time. For me the bigger challenge was deciding about choosing between that autonomy and what might be an actual human i.e. a late term fetus. After several rereadings, The classic Judith Jarvis Thomson article eventually convinced me that it’s still the woman’s choice even for a late term fetus. The second group of essays in my series rebuts the objections to Jarvis Thomson’s arguments.
