The Liberal Patriot Sanewashes DOGE.

DOGE has NOT discovered Billions in Waste and Fraud.

I am a big fan of The Liberal Patriot, which I regularly read. They provide hard evidence that the left is losing its traditional constituency, and generally do a good job of showing excess and just plain silliness when it pops up on the left. There’s no reason to dismiss this kind of critique as “false equivalence”, as so many people on the Left do. Similarity is not the same as equivalence, and the progressive left often use the charge of false equivalence” to say “we’re not as bad as they are”. On occasion, however, TLP’s eagerness to show they are balanced critics leads them to Sanewash the actions of the Trumplicans, and describe random acts of civic vandalism as if they were carefully thought out strategies.

In this TLP article, guest writer Casey Burgat concedes that DOGE is “using wrong ways to do the right thing.”, which makes him look like a good Trump-hating Liberal Patriot. However, he has literally zero evidence that they actually are doing the right thing. He leads with the assertion that DOGE “has uncovered billions of taxpayer dollars funneled into programs that Congress either never noticed, never cared to investigate, or deliberately ignored.” Unfortunately, he provides no evidence that Congress was unaware of these programs, or gives any reason why their alleged unawareness is a problem.
