There are a lot of White People who are genuinely surprised when they mention the word, and get treated as if they had used it. I've seen them post not only on medium but in Advice columns in major news papers. Almost all the Black people I've discussed this with find the distinction interesting when I point out, but they usually don't think it makes any difference.
