This "suggestion" is going to blow up in everyone's face eventually. The Roma is the name of one tribe of Gypsies. The Sinti and the Lautaru, and several other Gypsies tribes do not want to be called Roma, and members of those tribes have said so. Imagine what would happen if someone decreed that all Jews should be called Ashkenazi, and how the Sephardic Jews would react to that, and you'll get a sense of what a huge gaff this is. It's rather like the word "latinx" which only about 2% of all Hispanic people prefer, being decreed by White SJWs as the new term. The word "Gypsy" has to stay, because no other word groups all of these tribes together.

Also, Gypsies originated in Rajastan, not Punjab
