Those back up singers took that job because they wanted it. Why do they need you as a white savior to protect them from that choice? Suppose you showed up to see a Lyle Lovett concert with Picket signs saying "Stop Cultural Appropriation". Lyle bows to the pressure and fires all the black singers and replaces them with white ones. Is that really the world you want to live in?

You are doing your part to help create a society in which white artists will be afraid to hire black artists because of attacks like this, which will make it harder for black musicians to find work. Opportunities like this can often make a black artists career. Think of the effect that Paul Simon had on numerous African Musicians like Ladysmith Black Mambazo, who are now playing huge concerts all over the world. This kind of bigotry against musical mixing segregates black artists from larger audiences. and nobody gains from that.
