yes that’s the problem. The term used to be “politically correct“ which was coined by people on the left, then used against them. then “woke“ appeared, and suffered the same fate.The problem is that the vast majority of people find this abusive language policing to be obnoxious, no matter what you call it. So eventually, whatever term you give to this movement is going to become an insult in the mouths of people who hate it.

that’s a shame, because this movement is important, and it will destroy itself if it has no way of policing and critiquing itself. To do that we’ve got to talk about it, and talk about it we have to give it a name. for that reason, I’m going to continue to use the word “woke”, but I use it neither positively or pejoratively, but critically. That means sometimes positively, sometimes pejoratively, depending on what it merits.
