you don’t seem to have noticed that my first sentence is a conditional statement. If this is true…. I’m inclined to think it isn’t true which is why I think transwomen probably shouldn’t compete against ciswomen en masse. But I don’t know the science well enough to be certain one way or the other.The only thing I know for certain is that the horns of the dilemma described at the link below can’t both be true. I think the best way to escape this dilemma is to divide sports competitions by criteria like the ones you describe. If upper body strength gives a decisive advantage, then people should compete against others with similar upper body strength, regardless of gender.
