You make a good case for the claim that the time has passed for the strong black woman archtype. But I would speculate that there was a time when Black women (and Men) welcomed that archetype as an alternative to the scared helpless black woman archetype, such as Butterfly McQueen's character in Gone with the Wind. ( I stand ready to be corrected by any Black woman who was alive at the time that Strong Black Woman archetype first appeared.)
