You missed Arthur Christmas, the best Xmas movie by far. Jim Broadbent as Santa, Bill Nighy as a retired Grandsanta gone extravagantly senile, James Mcavoy as Santa's klutzy son Arthur who (spoiler alert) eventually becomes Santa over his superefficient brother Steve (played by Hugh Laurie). Hilarious script with constant references to classic movies, and sly digs at Colonialism and Hereditary monarchy.
