I like your writing, and I like you personally, but you’ve chosen a very bad hill to die on. I agree with you that we should strip off the speculations and the dogma, and focus our religion one the most fundamental experiences we must deal with. here’s what I come up with what I do that.

1) there are a small number of people who suffer deeply because they feel that they are in the wrong gender, and need to transition to some other gender, whatever that might mean. I personally find this to be pretty weird, but there are no good reasons to condemn them for doing this. it’s none of my business, and not my problem.

2) There are some evil and powerful people who like to get other people very stirred up about this, because it furthers their political and military ends. Some of them are hypocritical greenheads. Others are psychopathic mass murderers. None of them actually give a shit about this issue one way or the other. They are not the sort of people you want to stand with.
