You’ve got this exactly backwards. The people who defend the “white Jesus“ portrayals are the ones who are claiming that Jesus really is white, and objecting to portraying Jesus as Maori or Black or whatever. These are the same people who are insisting that Santa Claus “really is“ white, even though Santa Claus isn’t really anything at all. And yes, people who claim that Jesus really is white, and who object to all the other portrayals you describe here, are both racist and ignorant.

I don’t know where you got this definition of “white” (like all the other claims in this article, it has no links or footnotes), but it certainly isn’t accepted by modern anthropology. For over a century, anthropology has accepted the idea that race is purely a social construct, and has no biological basis at all. Consequently being white is whatever white racists think it is. For most of them, it means having that pale Palmolive complexion of the Jesus portrayal at the top of your article. That’s why Mexicans and Arabs often get beaten up by white bigots who call them racist epithets.
